I made it into Minefield and ducked into the first house I could. So many zombies all along the way I had to just try to run past them. My first time dying was shortly after a new game start while investigating Minefield. Generally the game had become very boring for me since I could sneak up on enemies and dispatch them at range most of the time, dying while playing has become a rarity.

At the time of playing this mod all it provided me was an endless supply of zombies and I just found it boring. Or when you're walking through a building on an empty stomach desperately looking for food only to see a zombie walk by a doorway, knowing that he is there but not knowing exactly where is what's scary. You start getting paranoid, you get jumpy at every single sound and when you one day turn the corner of the secluded and walled-in suburban fortress that you created only to see a breach in your fortifications with zombies pouring through, that is when your heart starts racing. When you've gone a couple of days without seeing a single zombie is when you really start to worry. You can go outside and not meet a single zombie, but that just makes it all the more scary. I'm a big fan of an unfinished game by the name of Project Zomboid and I think they've nailed this. It removes the tension that silence and loneliness creates. Thing is, doing this becomes way less exciting when the second you step outside fifteen zombies spawn a rough 20m away from you. The survival aspect is purely based around the ability to keep the zombies at bay, while this is important in an apocalypse like this you would be out scavenging for food, ammo and other supplies. The problem I had with it is the same problem I tend to have with anything zombie-related these days except the Walking Dead books. Of course, I'm not sure how much of that is even plausible to do with a small mod team. Re-skinning would be a part of the mod, and things like rebuilding models like the cars might be necessary. While there have been mods that add gun-toting nazi ghouls and feral ghouls in a secluded cemetery, there has been nothing that really was a survival-ly horror-ish style terror fest, using the wide-open world to best effect. I'm asking something that I think a lot of us are asking one another and have been asking for some time Where's my Fallout 3 Zombie Apocalypse Mod? You and I all know that the engine and content is perfect for such a setting, but it has inexplicably failed to appear.
